Sorry for the silly question but I couldn’t find the answer for this anywhere.
Is the name “Hail” an acronym for anything? If not, where the inspiration for the name came from?

This is a great question! Hail is not an acronym. Hail is the weather phenomenon that makes PLINK sounds in a cloud.
