I’d like to use vep() to annotate loci using GRCh38 on Terra. I see documentation about how to start a cluster using
hailctl dataproc start NAME --vep GRCh38
but I’m not sure how to proceed if I’d like to try using vep() in a Terra notebook. Is this possible?
Hi Lydia, I don’t believe so, but we (the Hail team) don’t maintain the system for launching notebooks/clusters in Terra. I’d ask on the Terra support forum: https://support.terra.bio/hc/en-us. Note, it should be possible to access data in Terra from a cluster lunched with hailctl dataproc if the service account used for the cluster is configured to have access to Terra data. Again, you’ll have to refer to Terra docs or support about how to set that up.
